Yellow Dock Seeds (Rumex crispus)

Yellow Dock can be used both as a food (rich in vitamins A & C) and as a medicine. Young leaves harvested in the early Spring can be cooked much the same way you would eat spinach. The roots, harvested in the Fall, are a powerful medicine used commonly in many herbal preparations for an array of skin conditions (eczema, psoriasis). Supporting the liver, gallbladder and digestive system, the bright yellow roots of Yellow Dock may be used to relieve constipation, without creating dependency. An overall clearing and cleansing herb.

Family: Polygonaceae
Medicinal Actions: Astringent, alterative
Planting: Direct sow seeds in Spring. Can tolerate dry, poor soils, full sun
